The Bomann Museum of Celle is one of the most important museums in North Germany and with an exhibition area of approx. 5,500 m² it is the third biggest museum in Lower Saxony.
 
Main topics are the folklore of Lower Saxony area, the regional history and the history of Celle. Furthermore there are special exhibitions of modern art as well as exhibitions regarding historico-cultural topics.

Besides a "built-in" farmhouse and living rooms furnished in the style of décor of the 19th century the museum offers presentations like "Urban Life in the 19th Century", „Craft in Celle“, „Industrial History of Celle“ as well as exhibitions with topics regarding the Lüneburg Heath.

A division of the palace of Celle presents the most comprehensive exhibition regarding the history of the Hanoverian kingdom. There is a wide-ranging programme with  events for children, pupils and adults as well.
